CompTIA, the leading neutral skills provider certifications for the IT workforce, today announced that it has updated its CompTIA Security + certification to reflect the evolving and expanding responsibilities of cybersecurity professionals .

The new version of CompTIA Security + (SY0-501) released this month puts more emphasis on the practical and practical ability of a security professional to identify and address security threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities .

"The key to security today is smart resource management and the ability to rotate resources," said Dr. James Stanger, chief technology evangelist at CompTIA. "With risk management, CompTIA Security + enables security professionals to use the same vocabulary, personalize the framework, and move forward with confidence."

"These elements include simulations of technological solutions and story-based articles that require advanced cognitive thinking from the candidate," said Stanger. "Cybersecurity professionals who surpass CompTIA Security + have shown that they can not only identify cyber threats, but also know how to react to stop them quickly, effectively and efficiently."

CompTIA Security + is relevant for a wide range of technology occupations, including system administrators, network administrators, security administrators, and penetration testers / IT audits.
